S.K.Y. CLUB (SUPPORT FOR KIDS AND YOUTH)
Sky Club offers newcomer children a range of activities and learning opportunities to give them the coping skills that will help them integrate into the Canadian school culture and form strong relationships.
WHAT WE OFFER
Children who are members of Sky Club benefit from:
- Continuous positive adult support
- Development of healthy relationships with peers and increased confidence
- Tools and skills to help them to succeed in school
- Support with homework
HOW DOES THE PROGRAM WORK
Throughout the school year, Sky Club runs each Saturday from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. Newcomer children in grades 1 to 12 get together to do homework, literacy and numeracy activities, yoga, play leadership activities and workshops on life skills. The children are supported by tutors, youth support workers, parents and volunteers.
WHO CAN ACCESS THESE SERVICES?
- Sky Club is open to all newcomer children enrolled in school in grades 1 through 12.

Sky Club is offered at EMCN’s Eastwood site, 12023 – 81 Street NW
