The Canadian Council for Refugees, of which EMCN is a member, is a national non-profit umbrella organization committed to the rights and protection of refugees and other vulnerable migrants. Their website provides a strong context and vision for refugee sponsorship. Resources and position papers are available.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC, formerly CIC) gives an overview of the various sponsorship streams and has a help centre where you can get answers to frequently asked questions. IRCC has also published a Guide to the Private Sponsorship of Refugees.
The Refugee Sponsorship Training Program (RSTP) is a program designed to support Sponsorship Agreement Holders (SAHs), their Constituent Groups, Groups of Five and Community Sponsors. The website has information on all areas of sponsorship in the form of tip sheets, webinars and e-training.
