Helen is a senior executive with 25+ years of experience leading Human Resources in health care, at the municipal government level and in the post-secondary sector where she is currently the Associate Vice President of Human Resources at MacEwan University. She has her Master of Science in Human Resource Management and a Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology.
Helen was born and raised in Edmonton. She is a first-generation immigrant settler. Her parents emigrated from Hong Kong in the late sixties and Helen has the lived experiences of growing up with immigrant parents trying to find their way in a new country. In her work, she has championed numerous diversities, equity and inclusion programs. Outside of her professional life, she is the proud mother of two active teenagers and an Australian Labradoodle named Ollie.
